Our farm has been in our family for over a century, spanning 5 generations.

“The story of family farming underscores a legacy of sustainability.” – Amanda Zaluckyj

Maple Border Farm has been in our family since 1917. Originally operating as a dairy farm, we transitioned to grain farming in the 1990s. The farm was given its name by Ruth Mitchell Miller, a second generation member of the family. Ruth was inspired by the majestic maple trees that bordered the farm and driveway; hence the name Maple Border Farm. Our logo represents the leaves that garnish these Norway maples, the same trees that impacted Ruth.

When the farm first entered our family, horses powered the entire dairy operation. Horses provided transportation as well as the strength and energy to work the land. As technology advanced, tractors and machinery were soon integrated into the farm’s workforce. As science progressed, we adapted to more sustainable and subsistence farming methods. This marriage of powerful machinery with modern science and technology helps us keep our land healthy and our business sustainable for future generations.

With innovation as our primary goal, we look to guide future generations of farmers. The mission of Maple Border Farm is to connect with and educate our community to help others understand the complex and ever-changing role of farming and agriculture in today’s society. We value our role as stewards of our land: to maintain farming practices that focus on the improvement of our soil, crop health and the environment. At Maple Border Farm, today’s farming fuels tomorrow’s brighter future.
